ECOWAS Convention \ 10th Anniversary Technical Review Meeting in Niamey, Niger
The Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) together with BICC conducted a technical review meeting with 14 of 15 ECOWAS member states, represented by their national small arms control mechanisms (National Commissions) in Niamey to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons, their Ammunition and Other Related Materials as well as to propel the Convention forward into the next decade of implementation. This conference, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, informed about the current process of establishing a regional roadmap for small arms and ammunition control in the ECOWAS region.
