The main part of the Conversion Report III—seven years troop reduction and conversion in North Rhine-Westphalia consists of a detailed description of eleven exemplary conversion projects in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). What is so special about this? Besides the financial support und advice from the part of the Land NRW, in these cases highly committed project management from the affected communities and intensive communication between all actors involved has contributed to the success of these projects. The presentation of practical experiences is intended to encourage communities to recognize the potential of the change accompanied by conversion and to use it for their regional development.
