Executive-Level Course on Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM)
From 5 to 15 December, the Executive-Level Course on Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM), organised by BICC in cooperation with the Bundeswehr Verification Centre (BwVC), will take place in Frankfurt and Geilenkirchen.
After a forced three-year break due to the COVID pandemic, high-ranking participants from several African states and regional organisations will gather once again in Germany at the invitation of BICC and the BwVC to enhance their awareness on the importance of WAM in a wider small arms and light weapons (SALW) and ammunition control context. It will also provide an opportunity for participants to network with key actors in the region and to share lessons learned at the national and regional levels.
Since 2015, BICC has been organising and conducting the course in cooperation with the Bundeswehr Verification Centre enabling the course to cover a wide range of topics, including the technical and policy understanding of SALW and ammunition control, as well as the institutional, political and socio-economic dimensions.
