Joe has worked in the fields of SALW control, arms transfer controls and research on the arms and security trade since 2008. As well as research activities, his work has included policy development and the provision of training and capacity-building as well as technical advice on issues relating to weapons and ammunition management (WAM) for national and multilateral bodies in the MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Caucasus and Southeast Asian regions as well as for United Nations and European Union institutions. His particular areas of expertise are in developing and harmonising national technology regulations with regional and international instruments, and in supporting efforts to counter proliferation and illicit trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
