Saskia's professional career path has been shaped by her interest and expertise in development cooperation and consulting. She has worked on various projects and assignments related to peace, security and governance, both in the field and at the headquarters level. Saskia has collaborated with different stakeholders, such as donors, governments, civil society and private sector, to design, implement and evaluate interventions that promote sustainable development and conflict prevention. Before joining BICC, she gained valuable experience at the European Commission’s Directorate for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) in the emergency response coordination centre (ERCC) as well as working for an international development cooperation consulting firm, where she prepared tenders for different donors such as the EU, World Bank, KfW and GIZ for projects on governance, peace and security globally.
