During his studies of Psychology, Aras focused on Clinical Psychology and graduated with a thesis on grief during the Covid-19 pandemic (M.Sc.). He has completed internships both at the front- and backlines of the healthcare sector, namely, at a psychiatric inpatient unit and at the funding program hospital partnerships (Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit). During this time, he collaborated with researchers from the Charité Berlin in writing a policy paper on the mental health infrastructure in Vietnam. Afterwards, he went on to work with Médecins sans Frontières and with unaccompanied minor refugees. At BICC, his research focus lies on migration of health care workers.
