Jocelyn Mawdsley studied at the universities of Bradford, Bonn and Newcastle. She wrote her PhD thesis on the prospects for European armaments collaboration between Britain, France and Germany. After completing a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowship, split between BICC and the Université libre de Bruxelles, she taught at Manchester University. She is currently Professor of European Politics in the School of Geography, Politics and Sociology at Newcastle University.
She chaired BICC’s International Board from 2014 to 2021 and is delighted to renew her connection with BICC as an associate researcher.
