Professional Career
Mischa Hansel is Senior Researcher at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH).
He holds a Magister Artium (MA) in Political Science (minors: History, German Literature) from Cologne University, Germany, and a PhD in Political Science/International Relations. He is certified as Research Manager by RWTH Aachen Business School.
2010–2013: Researcher, Lecturer and Editor of the Journal of Foreign and Security Policy at the Chair of International Politics and Foreign Policy of the University of Cologne.
2013–2016: Post-Doc Researcher and Senior Lecturer at the Chair of International Relations of the University of Giessen.
2016–2018: Post-Doc Researcher and Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at RWTH Aachen University. Visiting Researcher and Lecturer at the Elliott School of International Affairs (George Washington University), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, University of Sussex and Leiden University.
He is collaborating with BICC on the analysis of arms dynamics within the Peace Report (Friedensgutachten), the annual joint report of the German peace research institutes.
